Dr. Alaa Al-Najjar

We were devastated to learn that Dr. Alaa Al Najjar lost nine of her children this week. 

Alaa is a doctor at Nasser Hospital in Gaza. While at work the Israeli army attacked her home, killing all but one of her ten children. 

The children and their father, also a medical professional, were in their home when it was bombed. There exists a video of the charred bodies of the children being carried out of the rubble. Out of respect for their dignity we will not share this.

These are the names of Alaa's children. Her son Adam survived, but was badly injured. 

Alaa's grief is unfathomable. 

We strongly condemn this attack. 

The word charred should never be needed to describe children.
